PHCN Workers Shut Down Installations, Cause Blackout In Four Northern States

The four northern states of Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara were yesterday thrown into total darkness following the shutdown of the Mando Transmission Power Plant in Kaduna State by employees of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

The Mando Transmission power plant distributes electricity to all the four northern states in Kaduna zone and its shutdown yesterday grinded a lot of commercial activities to a halt.

It was learnt that the PHCN workers did not only shutdown the power transmission plant, but also closed down all PHCN offices across the four states in protest of the federal government’s inability to pay the workers their final entitlements.

They also reiterated their threat to shut down all power stations across the country if the federal government fails to respect the mutual agreements reached by relevant bodies, and effect payment of their severance benefits.

The workers, who gathered under the auspices of National Union of Electricity Employers (NUEE), also warned the so-called investors to stay away from all PHCN installations until their entitlements are completely paid to the last kobo as earlier agreed.

In a prayer session organized against all obstacles to the payment of their entitlements at the headquarters of the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC) yesterday, NUEE said they remained resolute in their demands and will not hesitate to go the extra mile to press home their demands.

The national vice president of the electricity workers union, Comrade Sikanta Ali Mishelin, who addressed journalists at the commencement of the prayer session, said they decided to go spiritual to seek divine intervention in their case.

“We are holding this prayer session to pray against all those standing against the payment of our entitlements, because the federal government has continued to tell Nigerians lies that our monies have been paid. I want to tell you that such statement is not true; not a single soul can say he has been paid.

“There is no force whatsoever that can intimidate us; we are still going to converge here tomorrow (today) to be addressed by our national leaders on the way forward; in this fight there is no going back,” he stressed.

Other workers, who chanted choruses in unison said, “God will judge this government for what they are making us pass through; Jonathan’s government does not respect agreement”, among other statements.

Speaking in the same vein, NUEE Zonal Secretary, North, Comrade Joseph Ishaya, said it was important for the workers to shut down all PHCN installations and remain at home until their entitlements were fully paid.

“How can the federal government take over PHCN when workers from Kaduna distribution zone have not received any money? This is why we directed our members to shut down all transmission stations, offices and remain at home and wait until their entitlements are paid”.

Kanye Explains Why He Brought A Jesus Look-alike On Stage

Controversial rapper might be arrogant but even he knows he has limits.

The rapper hit some nerves in the opening of his tour at Seattle when he brought a Jesus look-alike on stage.

Kanye however explains what he was aiming to achieve.

Kanye tells Wild 94.9 in San Fransico

“I had a friend of mine that is a pastor and we were discussing how we were going to deliver it. My girl even asked afterwards “isn’t that weird if Jesus comes on stage or something like that?” No we do plays all the time where people play Jesus. What’s awesome about Christianity is that we are allowed to portray God. We’re allowed to draw an image of Him. We’re allowed to make movies about Him. Other religions you can’t do that. Michelangelo did it…It’s a painting, it’s a sculpture, it’s a moving opera, it’s a play, it’s a message. I’m not even going to do any comparisons with that. God knows where my heart is at.”

(Shocking) What the Bible Says About Money

Most people know Sean Hyman from his regular appearances on Fox Business, CNBC, and Bloomberg Television, but what they don’t know is that Sean is a former pastor, and that his secret to investing is woven within the Bible.

Perhaps that can explain why, despite his uncanny ability to predict precise moves in the stock market, Sean is often laughed at for his unique stance on investing.

For example . . . a few months ago Sean appeared on Bloomberg Television. At that time, Best Buy (BBY) was dropping to all-time lows of $16 a share. Sean predicted the stock could go down to $11 a share, and would then quickly rebound to $25 per share, and after that would rally to $40 per share over the next year.

Another commentator on the show actually mocked Sean for his stance, saying “$40 on Best Buy? If that’s the case Apple (AAPL) is going to $1,500. That’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!” (Editor’s Note: At the time, Apple was trading at $650 per share).

Within a few weeks, Sean would receive the last laugh.

Best Buy dropped down to $11.20 a share and has since rebounded to $30 a share, continuing its path to $40 . . . exactly as Sean predicted. (Ironically, Apple has dropped down to about $400 per share).

During a recent private dinner with Sean, once he’d blessed the food, I wasted no time asking him what his secret is for investing so successfully.

I expected Sean to say that it was his years of experience at Charles Schwab or perhaps one of the complicated algorithms he uses for timing the stock market.

So when Sean responded that his secret to investing was the Bible, I was thoroughly shocked.

Yes, I knew Sean was a Christian (anyone who spends more than 1 minute with him will pick that up!). However, people usually keep their faith separate from things like . . . investing.

But not Sean.

For Sean, the Bible is his FOUNDATION for investing.

He explained to me how there is actually a “Biblical Money Code” woven into Scripture.

Sean says it is this Biblical Money Code that took him from making a mere $15,000 a year to now giving away up to $50,000 a year. Sean also credits this code with helping him turn his father’s $40,000 retirement account into $396,000.

Certain investment titans, Sean says, such as Warren Buffett and John Templeton, have already used this code to amass billions.

What Sean had to say impressed me so much that I asked him to put a presentation together that reveals how anyone could use this “Biblical Money Code.” (Click here to watch it now)

I’ve personally watched this presentation several times and it is already spreading virally.

During the video, Sean uses the teachings of King Solomon, Jesus of Nazareth, and the Apostle Paul to show how anyone can get out of debt . . . make sound investments . . . and morally build substantial wealth.

Sean even reveals a “debilitating ‘financial sin’ that blinds many . . . and could be costing you up to 41% of your life savings at this very moment.” What’s so deceiving about this sin is how innocent and safe it appears at first.

And at the end, he finishes up with his “12-12-12 plan for investing.” This is a simple step-by-step plan to go from being a saver, to an investor, to a philanthropist.

PHOTOS: More Nigerian Girls Pose Completely Unclothed For Twitter Fame

unclad pictures are beginning to dominate the Nigerian Twitter space as the act is fast becoming fashionable among young ladies.

One of the objectives ladies who engage in this act seek to achieve is to break into trending topics on the social service and ultimately build a huge Twitter following and gain cheap popularity.

Ladies who have made this act a hobby employ hashtags to string together these obscene pictures to get them easily noticeable by other Twitter users. For instance, some of them use hashtags such as #boobsmonday, #boobsfriday and post their unclad photographs.

Other girls equally interested are lured into posting their own unclad pictures on the social site by employing the use of the hashtags for the day — such as #boobstuesday on a Tuesday, which make their unclad pictures travel fast and go viral.

One of the typical Twitter female users of the social network who engage in this act is one with the name, Pretty Osaro. Osaro posted three unclad pictures of herself on May 15, each showing her in different positions.  On her handle she says, ‘’I wanna be famous, doesn’t matter how many guys…’’

She went on to lament that her previous Twitter account was suspended and lashed out at those who reported her via the Twitter Help Center for posting offensive contents. ‘’My previous account was suspended, if you don’t like what I do kindly unfollow or f..k out of my timeline,’’ she says.

In the usual manner in which desperate girls seeking fame on social media do, Osaro has at one time or the other reached out to celebrities who make use of Twitter to retweet her to the hundreds of thousands of their fans.

The day Osaro posted her unclad pictures on the social service, she tweeted the same picture to Nigerian music artistes  — Wizkid and Davido with — a view to getting them retweet the pictures.

She has also sought the help of American socialite and TV personality, Kim Kardashian who has over 17 million Twitter followers. Tweeting at Kardashian, she says, “Am I not hotter than @Kimkardashian? @KimKardashian, I love you so much please retweet me.’’

Other Twitter users with the names Bayelsa Queen and Ha Royal Sexcellency regularly trend on Twitter, posting their unclad pictures. Besides, there is a unclad picture being credited to one Adefope Temilola,  which has been circulating on Twitter for over two months.
Here’s another one:

A new media enthusiast, Tunji Lardner, describes the development as a “really bad behaviour’’, adding that typical youthful aspirations are now being amplified globally by social media. He adds that with the current level of under-development in the country, Nigerian youths — both male and female, should redirect their youthful vigour to hold political leaders accountable for their misdeeds with the new media technologies.

He says, “These are invariably young and immature people grappling with the need for popularity and acclaim from their peers. This is just another manifestation of the ongoing breakdown of our social order and the loss of parental control and oversight of our digital children with analog parents.’’

Lardner who is the Executive Director, West Africa NGO Network, warns that those engaged in the act risk the negative consequences and urges them to move towards changing the content and quality of their online discourse.

He says, “Everything lives forever on the Internet. Those pictures posted will be archived and someday retrieved, and can most certainly come back to haunt you, perhaps when you are looking for a job or even when you want to get married.’’

“Those involved can start by changing the quality and contents of their online discourse. Use these powerful technologies to interrogate the political system, ask the tough questions, find the tough answers and hold their leaders accountable for their misdeeds.’’

Speaking on the ways of stemming the tide in the country, he observes that it is difficult to legislate morality on a global and virtual platform like the Internet. According to him, the responsibility for the moral tone and content of youth participation in social media still rests with society at large.

“Their engagement on these platforms and the quality of their discourse is a direct reflection of the society’s prevailing norms. But there should be an understood code of conduct that is widely disseminated, spelling out the pitfalls of the dark side of social media.

“Perhaps the traditional media can help evolve this standard, and there is no need to reinvent the wheel. There is a considerable body of work that deal with youth and the use of social media,’’ he adds.

Some say she’s having problems getting a ‘suitable’ man that will marry her and her age is running, others say its just some family issues she’s battling with and needs help.

A source told reporters that Muna, who was seen sneaking into the church, is not the only Lagos babe who goes to the Synagogue for help, in spite of the many criticism against the popular Prophet.

SHOCKING CONFESSION: ‘Jesus’ Gave Me Gun I Was Using To Rob – Armed Robber

A suspect, Farayola Oladimeji, who was paraded by the Oyo State Police Command recently stunned everyone when asked about the source of the gun he was using for robbery and he replied that it was given to him by his friend who goes by the name ‘Jesus’.

The 29-year-old Ogbomoso-born man, described as a one-man squad armed robber, was arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Oyo/Ogbomoso axis, following a tip-off on his alleged criminal activities, which included snatching of motorcycles and dispossessing students of their phones and other valuables.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Okuwobi-Ilobanafor told Crime Reports that after the suspect’s arrest, two unregistered Bajaj motorcycles and one cut-to-size locally-made pistol, nine live cartridges and different types of handsets were recovered from him.
Oladimeji, who confessed to the crime, said he was into the sale of motorcycle parts until he fell victim to okada snatchers in 2011. The suspect said that the experience made him to decide to ply the same business to make money. Narrating the event he claimed led him to robbery, Oladimeji said: “I got a motorcycle to work with, with the agreement that I would pay for it instalmentally.
“The okada was collected from me by someone who posed as a passenger. I paid the money back with much difficulty so I decided to start doing what was done to me. My operational method was to ride on an okada as a passenger. Whenever we got to a lonely place, I would ask the okada rider to stop and would pull out a gun, asking for the key of the motorcycle.
“I have snatched four motorcycles through that method. My friend, whose name is ‘Jesus’, gave me the gun. I was also using it to dispossess students of Ladoke Akintola Univeristy of Technology of their mobile phones. I met the students in a class and robbed them.”
Oladimeji disclosed that he started his operation in 2013. “I dismantled two of the motorcycles and sold them in parts while I was using two for myself. I got about N30,000 from the sale of the parts.”
The PPRO said that the suspect would soon be charged to court.
